Iditarod Updates in Shageluk, March 14
FALSE ALARM! FALSE ALARM! FALSE ALARM! FALSE ALARM! FALSE ALARM! FALSE ALARM!
Silly, silly. We saw lights on the trail at 8:00 p.m. and thought it was Sandy. Shageluk welcomes, Robert Jones on an Arctic Cat! But you're not Sandy! Bill said he saw Sandy about an hour outside of Shageluk. Ok, that's the news. SANDY IS NOT HERE.
Here's more--Rachael lost her precious red bag this morning on the trail coming into Shageluk. Robert said Sandy McKee found it along the trail and she gave it to Robert when he passed by on the snowmachine. Here are some fun pictures of the bag, Robert, Rachael and Shageluk Iditarod checkers and fans. Robert gave everyone dollar coins when he came in. He was fun.

As of 8:00 p.m. Rachael and Paul are still here and Sandy McKee is still NOT here.
Here are some before and after pictures of the long line of dog food that the checkers put out when they get ready for the teams. Sandy McKees bags sit in a lonely spot near the Teen Center (Shageluk Race Headquarters)

The latest word on Rachael Scdoris and Paul Ellering is that Rachael left Iditarod one half hour before Paul! We'll expect them in some time today.
